Poop In My Yard Makes Me Happy…

Happiness.

So there I was, sitting in my living room, watching a documentary on “happiness“.

I had just put our baby boy down for a nap, Corene (my beautiful wife) was on a lunch date with our  6 year old Kayden, and my 2 middle sons (Camden & Kyson) were building box forts in the garage.

I’m engulfed in this documentary where I’m learning about things like…

• Dopamine sounds good (& I wonder how to get more of it)
• How a rick shaw driver in the most impoverished part of India is about as happy as an average American
• &  how happiness is tied to money from about $5K to $50K but not so much from $50K to $100K

All of a sudden, Camden comes in and says “Dad, I can’t find Kyson“.

I grab the remote, pause the TV, put my shoes, stick my head into the garage & yell “KYSON!?”

No answer.

So I run out the front door & yell louder… “KYYYYYYYYYYYYSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSOON!?”

… then I hear it..

this cute little voice coming from the back yard..

“Dad, I’m back here”

“What are you doing son?”

“I’m going poop.”

What!? 

So I run out back and there is my little blond, blue eyed 2 year old.

He’s taken the shovel, dug himself a hole and done the #2 duty in the spot he neatly prepared for himself.

He’s got his pants down around his ankles and he’s not quite sure what to do next as there’s no toilet paper, it’s a bit cold (it snowed today), and there’s no one out there to help him.

I run in the house to get some “cleanup gear” and come back to help him out.

Happiness. 🙂
